Small Business Feature: Mila Rose Boutique

Annabelle Escamilla had a booth next to my sister, Megan, at the Charleston Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings last Summer. I absolutely loved checking out her space. It was full of the cutest clothes, but better yet were the positive attitude and kind words Annabelle always had. So imagine my glee (yep, that's the word I typed and I'm sticking to it) when Annabelle finally opened a storefront on the West side of the Square in downtown Charleston earlier this year. Not only was I excited to go shopping (I mean, duh!), but I was beyond thrilled for our town to have yet another amazing business owner!
So why is this boutique important? "We believe in empowering women to confidently express themselves by telling their story through fashion & building relationships." That is the quote directly off the Mila Rose Boutique website. Watching Annabelle's interactions with people, I can 100% see that she means every word of this. Annabelle and her team put love and care into every interaction they have with their customers. In a world of quick and easy exchanges, it's extremely refreshing to see.
Annabelle is a very creative person so I should not have been surprised at how well-thought out the store details were. From the front, the store looked a bit small. Once I came in to do the photos, I realized how far back the store actually went. And every section has been well designed and thoroughly thought through. If you've ever been in an unorganized boutique, you know how important this is.
From sizes XS-3X, Annabelle's inventory truly has something beautiful and stylish for everyone. Did you know she has shoes, jewelry, adult coloring books, and hair accessories too? Yep...she's thought of everything! And you can find all of these amazing things in her storefront at 516 6th Street in Charleston, IL or on her website, listed at the bottom of this blog.

PS-Annabelle's adorable babies, Evie and Rosie, grace the boutique with their presence from time to time. If you catch them while they're in, consider yourself lucky. They are truly the sweetest puppers!
